Welcome!

This site contains an overview of the innovation context in the US healthcare system, a review of the basic principles of user-centered design, and a proposed framework for the analysis of successful and unsuccessful innovation initiatives with examples.

The site was originally conceived of as a project for the graduate research seminar "Topics in IT Strategy" at the Boston University Graduate School of Management. The original research question was: How does applying a user-centered design capability in the context of the US healthcare system impact innovation outcomes.
